Choosing the correct size is based primarily on areola diameter, as this is where the cups rest. The Regular (M) size is suitable for those with a bra size of C or smaller and an areola diameter of less than 4.6 cm. The XL size is best for those with a bra size above C or an areola diameter of 4.6 cm or more. If your measurements fall between sizes, or if you're pregnant and expecting changes in breast size, it's advised to size up. However, if you're using the Regular size and it’s working well for you, there’s no need to switch—even if technically your measurements suggest XL. Both sizes are effective.
To use Silverette® Cups, simply express a few drops of breast milk into each cup after nursing and place the cups over the nipples like a cupping glass. Keep them on between feeds and remove them before breastfeeding. Do not use any creams or nipple treatments in conjunction with Silverette®, as this can compromise their effectiveness. The cups can be worn under a nursing bra and used with absorbent breast pads, which should be placed over the cups.
For cleaning, rinse daily with warm water to remove any milk residue. To restore their shine, polish with a paste of baking soda and water. Silverette® Cups are nickel-free and their effectiveness does not diminish over time, making them suitable for reuse with future children.
