Before building the crib it is useful to decide whether you will be using as a bedside crib or as a standalone crib. The crib can be used in 2 modes: Standalone: where the crib isn't fixed to the adult bed and the side always remains up. If you decide to use this way then you should build the crib, fixing the removable bar along the top of the drop side.
Bedside Crib mode: where the crib is strapped to the side of the adult bed and you intend to lower the drop side. When building the crib, fix the removable bar in the lower position of the drop side. This will provide the rigid low level safety wall and allow you to zip the side up and down.
There are many bedside cribs and bedside sleepers to choose from including the Snuzpod and the Next2me or even the halo bassinets or cozee air bedside crib, but none are as stunning and sturdy as the Shnuggle Air Lite Bedside Crib.
