A Polish scientist and the first woman to receive a doctorate from the Paris University of Sciences. She is best known for being the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She remains the first scientist to win this award twice in two different fields. She married Pierre Curie, and together they discovered polonium and radium. Mary believed that science should be used for good, and her discoveries still help treat illnesses today.
